FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Site Spotlights Top Credit, Equity, Economic and Market Research Reports
New York, NY, September 18, 2007 Alacra, Inc., a provider of online business information solutions, announced today the launch of Research Recap, a one-stop research resource for the investment community, professional services firms and others. The new site, accessed free of charge and built on a blogging platform, identifies, highlights and links to the top research reports issued daily by a wide variety of entities, including industry and financial analysts, professional service firms and governmental agencies.
At launch, Research Recap is tracking key research reports in multiple categories, including Academic Research, Credit Research, Economic Research, Equity Research, Industry Research, Market Research and Public Sector. RSS feeds are available for each category. In addition, users can easily search by keywords, company names or other terms to access Research Recaps archive of posts with links to the original research reports.
Navigate Volumes of Expertly-Selected Research in Minutes
Research Recap features only research that the sites expert editors deem interesting or relevant. Theres a flood of research published by thousands of sources around the world every day, said Angus Robertson, Research Recaps moderator. Some of this research is cited in the press and on the web, but much of it can be tough or in some cases impossible to find using standard methods. With Research Recap, a user can review in just minutes a wide variety of categorized research, scanning a robust inventory of available reports for all kinds of new ideas.
A Single Source Fills Gap in Access to a Diversity of Research
Research Recap editors make decisions on what to post based solely on their judgment of what is compelling and relevant to the services intended audiences. In some cases, Research Recap posts will be prompted by news or market events. In others, reports are selected to uncover trends that have business relevance.
Today, most people discover research in three ways: by reading the sources they always read, such as trade publications; by reading what gets pushed out to them by colleagues, vendors or others; or by reading the results from specific searches for data they are already interested in, said Jeff Weiss, CEO of Freedonia Research. Whats compelling about Research Recap is that it takes the notion of research discovery to a new level, facilitating idea generation from high quality, diverse research that users may otherwise never see. Theres nothing quite like it.
During its pre-launch beta, Research Recap highlighted research on the sub-prime mortgage meltdown from sources such as Moody's, CreditSights, the International Monetary Fund, Oxford Analytica and PIMCO. Similarly, Research Recap has featured analysis on energy issues such as green technologies and consumption trends from McKinsey, Revere Research, MIT and the National Petroleum Council.
The research reports we commonly see referenced in newspapers or trade publications are only the tip of the iceberg, said Steve Goldstein, chairman and CEO of Alacra. Numerous government agencies, professional services firms, universities and boutique research firms all provide insights that the typical business professional or investor might never see. Weve identified a substantial gap in the sources currently available, and are filling that gap by providing a single source spotlighting essential research reports.
Accessing Privileged Content; Submitting Research for Consideration
Research featured by Research Recap is predominantly free content. Featured paid research is sourced from a wide variety of providers, including The Alacra Store, an affiliated eCommerce website that provides premium business information. Most paid research is password-protected and does not show up in typical web searches. Research Recap has made arrangements with dozens of providers to review their proprietary research to determine what is appropriate to highlight for Research Recaps target audiences.
Research Recap welcomes submissions from research publishers for consideration. For further information please contact Mr. Robertson at [email protected].
